Expanding on the new experience “Create Your Taste” featured on the new McDonald’s kiosks, we developed a prototype that let users build a custom hamburger by selecting what turnstyle to use to select the next custom ingredient. The current burger being made would be shown on a display.
A Raspberry Pi using NodeJS and socket.io was used in conjunction with break beam sensors to notify remote tablets and displays what selection was made. An app running Unity3D was used to dynamically create the burger and display the finished product.
