Pyxis is an internally developed software to help plan retail environments and campaigns for clients. Built on the Unity platform, it leveraged the real-time graphics and dynamic textures that bottlenecked traditional rending turnaround times. It gave remote clients access to make final decisions with the entire store campaign in mind.
I developed Pyxis to tie into a backend application server which enabled clients and creatives to upload images dynamically. I created 3D model assets of the retail stores based on schematics and floor plans, then utilized the uploaded digital content to display artwork in the virtual environments.
I also programmed the functionality to A-B test between multiple uploaded images to judge the effectiveness of the campaign pieces. Using the Unity engine, I implemented environmental controls for the user to simulate day / night cycles providing full visualization of in-store and external campaign elements. I incorporated user biometric controls of adjustable viewing heights and movement speed to further refine experiences based on target demographics.
As a further enhancement, I converted the Pyxis application to a VR experience. I leveraged Unity and VR headset software development kit to implement user character controls and converted the existing product assets into interactive objects allowing users to pick up merchandise, view items and simulate the in-store shopping experience.
